VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: MEET MOLLY!

Molly is a retired teacher who radiates warmth, wisdom, and a deep love for community. Her heart for people and passion for sharing God’s love shines through every time she serves with Love Irvine.

Long before Love Irvine began, Molly was already serving with Love Orange and Love Costa Mesa through her church, Beacon/Poiema OC. Once Love Irvine launched, it became clear to her: “Since I live in Irvine, it has become apparent that I should serve my city.”

And serve she has! From tutoring students to volunteering at senior centers and shelters, collecting eyeglasses, and more, Molly’s involvement touches many lives.

But what’s most powerful is how serving has impacted her:

I didn’t expect to receive anything in return. The truth is, I often thought serving was to benefit the needy, but in the process, I received more than I served.

When asked what she’d say to someone unsure about getting involved, she keeps it simple:

“Try it! You don’t have to do it alone. Join the team and serve!”

And if you’re ever looking for her around town? You might find her enjoying a treat at her favorite Irvine spot — Einstein Bros. Bagels.

Thank you, Molly, for living out the heart of Love Irvine — showing us that when neighbors serve one another, our city becomes a more beautiful and connected place to call home.
